"What is this nonsense?" I hear you ask, let me explain:
I've been toying with the idea of changing the name of the BRAWLcast and combining it with the Kitchen Spasm podcast for a while now. All those years ago my initial idea for the Bc was that it could consist of mixes from any genre of music, and sometimes it's hard to decide which banner some of these mixes should come under, I won't have that problem anymore.
Although changing the name after all this time may seem pointless, with the end of Horror Brawl calling the podcast/mix series BRAWLcast no longer feels right.
After months of "shall I, shan't I" moments I have finally settled on a name that I like, one that I think represents how I feel about all the music I love, and play in my various DJ sets under various silly names: SALIENCE.
Simply put, salience is the quality of something being noticeable, prominent and standing out from its neighbours or surroundings.
The first mix is starting at number 404, because I don't want to start from scratch, and it would be the number of the next BRAWLcast. It is also an error code we're all familiar with for something that cannot be found. So, if like me, you were looking for BRAWLcast 404, you haven't found it.
