Deborah Grattan a.k.a Cinquedea is a Hard Techno DJ and Producer based in Dublin. She has a monthly show on Dublin's long running pirate and now internet radio station Power FM on the last Saturday of the month at 11pm since January 2021, and is a resident DJ for Birmingham Techno night Collide. Her first release came out on well-respected label Refined Format in 2022, and since then she has had releases on Keep On Techno Records, Techno Connects (with which she will have a production residency), MIEWS! RAVE and her biggest release to date; Hydraulix Records. She has supported Perc in Belfast and Dublin’s Grand Social, and has headlined for Hotboxx in Dublin twice. She has also headlined for Techno Connects in multiple venues in Scotland, and has played across the UK and Ireland (particularly in the underground free party scene with Interruption and Annaghtek) which has included Collide Summer Gathering in summer ‘23 to a packed room, and her biggest booking to date was last October - the Hydraulix party in Fold, London. For Route303, Episode 3, we had guest DJ Tchie in the driving seat for the first hour. Tchie was born in the North of France, and his love of music originated in the early 90's with the birth of Acid House, New Beat, Trance and Techno. He started going to clubs in Belgium in iconic venues such as Boccacio, Cherry Moon, La Rocca, Fuse etc, admiring the DJs who made thousands of people dance all night until sunrise. He then moved to London in 1996 and discovered a new sound, new music, and a new culture - underground Acid Techno, being pioneered by the Stay up Forever Collective. Having become close friends with them, he started to mix, and it was not long before he started playing in London bars, gaining his first residence at Pandemonium once a month, playing alongside artists such as Aaron & Chris Liberator, D.A.V.E. The Drummer, Gizelle and The Geezer. He later joined 7sins, managed by DJ Mish Mash/The Baron of Mish Mash and went on to play at other venues such as Club414, The Mass, The Fridge, The George IV, and Imperial Garden. For Episode 2 in the driving seat for the first hour we had guest DJ Miss Snoopy. Miss Snoopy took up DJing in June 2023 with the goal to do a live stream mix for her 40th birthday 5 months later. Learning to mix has been on her bucket list for the past 20 years or so and she finally decided it was time to put a check mark next to it. Her love for electronic music goes back to the early 2000s, when she started raving and UK acid techno was at its peak in the Montréal rave scene, with DJ’s from the Stay Up Forever collective being regularly booked at local parties. She loves different genres, from hard house to hard trance, freeform to jungle, but nothing can give her goosebumps and take her into another dimension than pounding Acid Techno and its distinctive 303 sound. She’s an admin and a resident dj for the Insanity Dj’s brand on Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/insanity_djs; https://www.facebook.com/groups/insanitydjs), a channel hosting various dj’s mixing mostly hard house, but also welcoming other genres, such as trance, house, techno and Acid Techno. She’s still on a learning journey, but hopefully she can take you on an acid trip with her, that’s all she really wants! Then for the second hour, behind the wheels of steel we had vinyl playing guest DJ Underground Girl. Underground Girl has been DJing techno & breaks in Bristol and the South East since 1998. For several years she was a resident DJ at Boom Shiva at The Herb Farm in Essex. She and her partner Arron Courts play live Acid Techno as Strait-Jackit, and they have released tracks on Stay Up Forever, Acid Corp, Flatlife Records, 303 Alliance and Acid Test. As part of Strait-Jackit she has worked with artists including D.A.V.E The Drummer, Sterling Moss and Rats On Acid. They also design and manufacture unique electronic musical instruments and effects at Space-Cat Audio Technologies (S-CAT).
